The Nordictrack Spacesaver SE9i Elliptical is the premium model in the folding Spacesaver elliptical series.
It steps up from the Spacesaver SE7i model with a larger, full-color console and more resistance levels.
It folds up with wheels on the bottom. So you can move it out of the way or clean under it easily.
It’s so compact that it can be stored away easily in a corner or even a closet.

Nordictrack Spacesaver SE9i Elliptical Review – the Benefits:
Full-Color Touch-Screen Console
The Spacesaver SE9i elliptical comes with an extra-large, 14-inch, full-color, touch-screen HD console. So you can see your workout stats in full color with a swipe of your finger.
Plus, when you watch iFit world trails (more on iFit below), this really makes the scenery come alive and makes for a more enjoyable workout.
The console also has a dual-speed workout fan to keep you cool and Bluetooth Audio with console speakers. So you can sync your devices and play your favorite workout mix as you run.
Folding To Save Space
It can be hard to find a solid elliptical trainer that also folds up (most folding ellipticals these days are pretty cheap and flimsy).
So it’s great to find that Nordictrack has specifically designed one with a solid-steel frame and heavy flywheel (18 pounds).
The Vertical SpaceSaver design of this trainer makes it easy to fold up and move out of the way. The arms fold down and the entire machine folds up on the front base so it’s compact enough to store in a closet or corner.
If you want to save space or have a workout area that doubles as something else (like a living room), this is a very handy feature.
Just fold up the unit and roll it away when you’re done working out.
Incline changes the slope of the elliptical pathway – which means you end up training different lower body muscle groups. This also gives you an overall more effective and challenging workout.
The SE9i model gives you up to 10 degrees of power incline. You can easily change it from the buttons on your console.
It also interacts with iFit – so your iFit trainer can control the incline for you during your workout if you want a truly hands-free experience (you can override this feature if you wish).
Oversized, Adjustable Pedals
The Nordictrack Spacesaver SE9i elliptical helps you customize your workout even more with the adjustable pedals. You can choose from 3 different toe-heel angles to find which one feels most comfortable for you.
Plus different toe-heel angles may also help you to target and tone different muscle groups. Also, the pedals are built closer together than previous models to reduce stress on the hips.
This more closely mimics a natural stride pattern which also gives you a more comfortable, natural workout.
Travel the World with iFit Coach
iFit Coach let’s you do everything you could imagine – and then some. You can run famous trails all over the world – from New Zealand to Hawaii – and watch real landmarks pass you by in the console screen.
You can also follow popular personal trainers as they lead you through video workouts in exotic locations like India or the Swiss Alps.
You can also stream high-energy fitness classes to your machine for extra challenge.
Choose from hundreds of pre-recorded classes – or even take live classes from your home.
And the best part is that if you get the Nordictrack SE9i from the Manufacturer you can get a Full Family membership to iFit Coach included for a short time.
So you can try out everything iFit offers first to see if you like it. (There’s also a free version of iFit that you can use which also includes some built-in workouts.)
Nordictrack Spacesaver SE9i Elliptical- What You Should Know:
While it’s nice to have the incline on this trainer, this doesn’t give you the range of incline that some trainers (like the Commercial 14.9 – which gives you up to 20 degree incline). This is mainly due to a trade-off because of the limits of the folding elliptical design.
There are 2 versions of iFit – a free version with a few built-in workouts – or the full monthly subscription version.
To get all of the benefits of iFit including the live iFit classes and thousands of world trail workouts, you’ll need the full paid monthly subscription.
You don’t need the full subscription version to use this machine however – the elliptical works fine without the paid membership. But it’s something to know if you want to take the online classes.
If you’re looking for a folding elliptical machine with the benefits of a premium, luxury elliptical, the Spacesaver SE9i is a great option.
It marries a strong, sturdy feel with luxury extras like the full color console and incline crosstraining. Plus it easily folds up and away, making it ideal for condos, apartment or smaller workout areas.
