Nordictrack SE7i Elliptical – The Right Choice for you?
The Nordictrack SE7i elliptical is Nordictrack’s most affordable folding elliptical.
It can be hard to find folding elliptical trainer that’s also stable and sturdy.
The SE7i elliptical delivers this with solid steel construction and a heavier flywheel than most folding units.
You also get up to 22 levels of resistance to add some challenge to your routine.

Nordictrack Spacesaver SE7i Elliptical – The Benefits:
Large, Full-Color HD Console
While the console on this unit used to be 7 inches, Nordictrack enlarged it this year to 10-inches. The larger screen is much more fun to watch and it really pulls you into the iFit action.
You can see your results with a swipe of your finger, or connect with iFit and run trails all over the world. You can even take a live fitness class from your console (more on iFit below.)
The console also comes with a dual-speed fan to keep you cool and one-touch buttons for quick, on-the-fly changes.
Folds up To Save Space
It’s getting harder to find a folding elliptical these days that still feels sturdy and stable like the Spacesaver SE7i.
If you want to save space or have a workout area that doubles as something else (like a living room), this is a very handy feature.
Just fold up the unit and roll it away when you’re done working out (there are wheels on the bottom). The arms fold down and the entire crosstrainer folds up on the front base.
So it’s easy to store it somewhere else until you’re ready to use it again.
Challenge Yourself with 22 Levels of Resistance
You get up to 22 levels of magnetic resistance to add some high intensity intervals into your workouts. You can easily change the resistance with the one-touch buttons on the console.
The iFit programs can also change the resistance for you automatically depending on the program you’re using.
Oversized, Adjustable Pedals
The Nordictrack SE7i elliptical helps you customize your workout even more with the adjustable pedals. You can choose from 3 different toe-heel angles to find which one feels most comfortable for you.
Plus different toe-heel angles may also help you to target and tone different muscle groups.
Travel the World with iFit
The Nordictrack SE7i elliptical machine also comes iFit Compatible. With iFit you can connect it to the wireless internet in your home and run new trails all over the world – from the streets of Paris to the shores of Hawaii.
You’ll see the scenery pass you by in the console screen for some virtual reality-style fun. There are thousands of iFit world trails to explore.
Don’t want to travel the world?
With iFit you can also take Livestream fitness classes – which cover everything from yoga to stretching to HIIT training workouts.
You can also track your workouts over time and see how far you’ve come – which can be very motivating. And with the iFit tracker you can keep track of everything from your daily activity to nutrition to your sleep patterns.
Bluetooth Audio
This trainer also comes with Bluetooth Audio and console speakers. So you can pair your devices and listen to your favorite workout music as you run.
Nordictrack SE7i Elliptical – Any Drawbacks?
iFit Subscription
There are 2 versions of iFit – a free version with a few built-in workouts – or the full monthly subscription version.
To get all of the benefits of iFit including the live iFit classes and thousands of world trail workouts, you’ll need the full paid monthly subscription.
You don’t need the full subscription version to use this machine. But it’s something to know if you want to take the online classes.
Limits of a Folding Design
While a folding design can be handy, there are some limits.
You don’t get incline on this trainer like you do on the Nordictrack front drive trainers like the 9.9 elliptical.
You also don’t get the resistance controls on the moving arm bars like you do with higher-end models.
Bottom Line?
If you’re looking for a sturdy, folding elliptical that’s strong enough to take longer workouts – but still light enough to fold up, you may want to consider the Nordictrack Spacesaver SE7i elliptical.
It comes in at a great price. Plus it still manages to give you a sturdy feel, heavy flywheel, and even adjustable footpedals to customize your workout feel.
And with the iFit, large screen and Bluetooth audio, you have a lot of ways to add some fun to your workouts!
