These are both popular Spacesaver ellipticals that can be folded and stored away when you’re not using them. This is handy since it can be hard to find a folding elliptical these days.

If you have a workout space that doubles as something else (like an office or a family room), you might want a machine you can use and then fold away.

Both trainers also give you rear-drive designs and full-color, HD, touch-screen consoles. You can go online and run trails all over the world with iFit. Or take a fitness class from the comfort of your own home through the screen.

However, even though these trainers look very similar, there are some differences you’ll want to know.

This post will go over the main differences between the Nordictrack SE7i vs SE9i Elliptical Trainers to help you choose the best fit for you.

Nordictrack SE7i Vs SE9i: Price

The Spacesaver SE7i elliptical is the more affordable trainer of the two, You can get it for around $1299 with Free Shipping here.

The SE9i is the premium version in the series with a few more perks. So it comes in a bit higher. As of this writing, you can buy it direct from the manufacturer for around $1799 with Free Shipping here.

So if you’re on a budget, the SE7i is clearly the more popular choice.

Nordictrack SE9i vs SE7i: Console

Nordictrack upgraded these models last year and now both of them have full-color, HD, touch-screens with iFit streaming.

The difference? Size.

The Nordictrack SE7i console is 10-inches across as seen here:

The Nordictrack Spacesaver SE9i has a larger 14-inch console as seen here:

So the larger console is obviously nicer to have since it’s more enjoyable to watch. It can also help pull you into the action a bit more while running world trails or taking fitness classes with iFIt.

Note that both consoles come with similar speakers, Bluetooth audio – and you can tilt the screens on both models for a better viewing angle.

Nordictrack SE7i or SE9i: Resistance

The Nordictrack SE9i elliptical has 24 resistance levels vs 22 on the SE7 elliptical. It’s not a huge difference – and definitely not a deal-breaker.

It just means you have a bit more room to grow on the SE9i as your fitness level improves.

Incline Differences

Incline is not the same as resistance. It changes the slope of your running pathway and helps you to work different sets of muscle groups.

It’s not necessary to have but a lot of people do like to have it.

Here’s the difference between the Nordictrack SE7i and SE9i. The Nordictrack SE9i gives you up to 10 degrees of power incline (meaning you change it from the console).

The Nordictrack SE7i does not offer incline.

So if you’re looking for a more effective crosstraining workout, the SE9i would be the better option.

.

Nordictrack SE7i vs SE9i: Arm Bar Controls

The Nordictrack SE9i elliptical also gives you resistance and incline controls on the moving arm bars.

This is handy. You can make changes without having to stop your arm workout and reach up to the console constantly.

The Nordictrack SE7i does not have this option. Again, not a deal breaker. But it’s a nice touch to have on the SE9i trainer.

Bottom Line?

So which is best when comparing the Nordictrack SE7i and SE9i Spacesaver ellipticals?

Both trainers have their pros and cons.

The main benefit of the SE7i elliptical is that it’s more affordable and gives you all the basics you need – and the iFit streaming programs to add some fun.

Plus it also folds up and moves out of the way easily. So it’s great if you’re on a budget but still want a sturdy, stable folding elliptical.

The SE9i also folds up – but it gives you a large, more advanced console – which means the iFit workouts are a lot more fun to watch. You also get arm bar controls.

Plus you have more room to grow with more resistance levels and incline options.

So at the end of the day, it comes down to what’s most important to you.
