Wondering which is best for you?

Nordictrack FS10i Freestrider

These are both popular elliptical trainers that give you a perk above other standard elliptical trainers.

You aren’t locked into a set stride with these machines. You have a fully adaptable 32-inch stride for optimal crosstraining.

So you can change both your stride and the shape of your running path on either Freestrider depending on how and in which direction you push the pedals.

They both also give you the same low-impact design – which makes them great if you’re prone to injury, strain or shin spints.

Both models also come iFit Coach compatible – so you can run trails all over the world or stream a new workout class to your machine each day.

The problem?  They look very similar to each other.

This may leave you wondering – What’s the difference?

This post will go over the main differences between the latest Nordictrack FS10i vs FS14i Freestrider trainers to help you make a more informed decision.

So let’s dive in:

Nordictrack FS10i vs FS14i – Price

The Nordictrack FS10i is the most affordable model out of the two coming in at around $1899 with Free Shipping here. That makes it more attractive price-wise.

The Nordictrack FS14i is the premium model in the series with a few more perks to it. You can get it for around $2699 with Free Shipping here.

So what do you get for the extra money with the FS14i model? Let’s look a bit closer:

Nordictrack FS14i vs FS10i: Console

While both Freestride Trainers come with the full-color, touch-screen HD consoles, the FS10i console measures around 10 inches across:

The Freestrider F14i console is larger, measuring 14 inches across:

The larger console can really make your iFit coach workouts come alive – especially when you’re running different trails all over the world from Australia to the Swiss Alps. It can also make your workout stats easier to read.

And here’s another viewing angle of the Nordicrack FS14i model:

As you can see, they’re both pretty sizeable screens. But if you want the biggest screen possible, then the FS14i model is the clear winner in this category.

Both consoles also come with a dual-speed fan to keep you cool during long workouts. Both console windows also tilt – so you can find the best viewing angle for you.

Nordictrack FS10i or FS14i – Incline/Decline

Incline and decline change the slope of your elliptical pathway, helping you to use more muscle groups and get a more optimal workout. It’s a great way to add extra crosstraining to your workouts.

The FS10i trainer gives you up to 10 degrees of power incline – which is great.

But the FS14i gives you a 10 degree incline AND 10 degree decline as well. So you have more ways to crosstrain and work different lower body muscle groups with the FS14i model.

Resistance Levels

The FS10i Freestrider gives you up to 24 levels of resistance while the FS14i models gives you a bit more – up to 26 levels of resistance.

Not a big difference. But you do have a bit more room to grow with the FS14i trainer as your fitness levels improve over time.

Nordictrack FS10i vs FS14i: Armbar Controls

The FS14i also comes with another luxury perk – incline and resistance controls on the moving arm bars.

So instead of having to reach up to the console to change your incline or resistance, you can do it from the moving arm bars – without breaking your stride.

This isn’t a dealbreaker – but it’s a nice option to have. The FS10i Freestrider does not offer this option.

Bottom Line?

So which is better when comparing the Nordictrack FS10i vs FS14i Freestride Trainers?

Well, they both give you the 32-inch adaptable stride that can help you burn more calories and find a more comfortable stride than with a standard elliptical.

They also both give you streaming club workouts and world trail runs with iFit Coach on your full-color, HD console.

The FS10i model is more affordable – which makes it more attractive price-wise. And you’ll still get everything you need to get a fun, challenging workout.

However the FS14i model has the larger console screen, more resistance levels and decline as well as incline. So there’s a bit more room to grow with this trainer.

It all comes down to what you’re really looking for.
